More angular in shape than the Victorian, this is a classic style with clean lines and a rectangular or square flat fronted projection;

bungalows;
Rectangular in shape with a flat angled sloping roof, the lean-to makes the

best use of available space constraints;
Remodelled with a steeper pitched roof and bold modern colours, the lean-to

conservatory is now a popular contemporary style choice.
 

Solar control smart glass: cooler in summer, warmer in winter
RE-FLEX™ is the next generation of conservatory roof glass designed specifically for the British weather.

This "smart glass" or "solar control glass" as it is more commonly known, uses an

invisible metallic coating which is applied to the glass using the latest coating

technology. Research has shown that 80% of conservatory owners will spend

over £1000 on internal blinds within eighteen months of purchasing a

conservatory. A typical south facing installation during summer can reach

temperatures above 45°C, making the conservatory a true hot house! However,

with RE-FLEX™ high performance sealed units installed in your conservatory, the

internal temperature is reduced by 10°-15°C, allowing your conservatory to be

enjoyed for more hours every day.

How installing RE-FLEX™ glass can benefit you:

Orangeries
Orangeries have become the new up and coming product to have. Historically a place for the cultivation of

citrus plants, the classic orangery design was originally separate from the main house. It would have had

stone built walls with large sliding sash windows and a glass roof on timber rafters with a box gutter all

round inside the parapet wall. Today the term "orangery" is less well defined, referring largely to a glazed

building with a solid roof and roof lantern, usually used as part of the main home. An orangery combines the

best features of a traditionally built room extension with the added benefits of "living under glass".
 

Roof lanterns
Roof lanterns are an ideal addition to a flat roof to provide natural light into the room below, and offer great

potential for transforming an otherwise dark and gloomy space. Roof lanterns represent an accessible and

affordable alternative to many conventional roofing treatments and can take many different forms, from

simple pyramids to elegant octagons, or larger rectangular hipped roof lanterns. An ideal solution for

extensions, roof lanterns can be positioned to define a particular area within a space; a kitchen island for

example, or the dining area within an open-plan kitchen/diner.
