Why choose PVCu?

PVCu (polyvinyl chloride unplasticised) frames have been used in the construction of replacement windows and doors for some years now and as a tried and tested building material, PVCu has the following advantages over wooden and metal framed windows:

	Waterproof and weather resistant. Unlike timber and metal, PVCu does not rot, crack, warp or rust when exposed to the elements for years on end. It is very durable and has a very long working life.
	Low maintenance. PVCu does not require any major maintenance, regular painting or weatherproofing to provide you with years of trouble free service. A general wipe over with warm soapy water is all that is required to keep your frames looking like new.
	A variety of finishes. For those of you who love the look of timber, but also want the maintenance free benefits of PVC, no you no longer have to compromise. Our authentic looking textured effect woodgrain PVCu profiles may be just for you.
	Excellent thermal insulation. The multi-chambered design used in the construction of PVCu frames whilst adding overall strength also helps to greatly reduce any heat loss through the frame.
	Less of an impact on the environment. No destroying rainforests and using precious hardwoods. PVCu can be melted down and recycled for use in the manufacture of other products. Most of our products are manufacturered or extruded in the UK, thus reducing our carbon footprint. What about aluminium?

Enjoying a recent revival in popularity, aluminium windows have continued to be an attractive choice for replacement windows and doors. Harp Windows manufacture and install direct fix aluminium windows and doors, available in a choice of three main colours, white, black and brown, and up to 200 colours available to order.

Maintenance free, strong durable and tough and fitted direct to brickwork (just like uPVC), powder coated aluminium appeals primarily because the profiles tend to be much slimmer and neater than those of uPVC. See our product specification page for more information, or contact us.
